APPSC Group 2 Exam Pattern

The APPSC Group 2 Recruitment selection process is conducted in multiple stages to evaluate candidates on their knowledge, analytical ability, and computer proficiency. Candidates must successfully qualify at each stage to proceed to the next level of the recruitment process. 

The selection procedure consists of the following stages: 

1. Preliminary Examination 

2. Mains Examination 

3. Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) 

4. Document Verification 

The Preliminary Examination serves as a screening test. Candidates who qualify in the prelims will be shortlisted for the Mains Examination. Those who clear the mains examination will be required to appear for the Computer Proficiency Test. Finally, shortlisted candidates must complete the Document Verification process before the final selection.

1. APPSC Group 2 Prelims Exam Pattern 

The Preliminary Examination acts as a screening test to shortlist candidates for the mains examination. The marks obtained in the prelims are not considered for final merit ranking. 

Key Features: 

• The exam consists of 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). 

• Each question carries 1 mark, totaling 150 marks. 

• There is a negative marking of 1/3 mark for every incorrect answer. 

• The total duration of the examination is 150 minutes.

2. APPSC Group 2 Mains Exam Pattern

Candidates who qualify in the preliminary examination will be eligible to appear for the Mains Examination. The mains exam is crucial for determining the final merit list. 

Key Features: 

• The exam consists of two papers, each carrying equal weightage. 

• All questions are objective type (MCQs). 

• The difficulty level is approximately equivalent to the bachelor’s degree level. 

• Each question carries 1 mark. 

• Negative marking of 1/3 mark is applicable for every incorrect answer.

• The examination consists of two parts assessing computer-related competencies. 

• The total duration of the test is 60 minutes.

4. Document Verification 

Candidates who successfully clear all the above stages will be called for Document Verification. During this stage, candidates must present original documents related to:

• Other relevant documents as specified by the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC). 

Only candidates who successfully complete the document verification process will be considered for final appointment.
