APPSC Group 1 Selection ProcessĀ 

The APPSC Group 1 examination is conducted by the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission to recruit candidates for prestigious administrative posts in the state government. The selection process is designed to assess candidates on their knowledge, analytical ability, administrative aptitude, and overall personality.Ā 

Candidates aspiring for Group 1 services must qualify through multiple stages of examination, each evaluating different competencies required for administrative roles.Ā 

Stages of the APPSC Group 1 Selection ProcessĀ 

The APPSC Group 1 recruitment process consists of three stages:Ā 

1. Preliminary ExaminationĀ 

2. Mains ExaminationĀ 

3. Personal InterviewĀ 

The Preliminary Examination acts as a screening test to shortlist candidates for the Mains Examination. Candidates who successfully clear the Mains Examination will be invited for the Personal Interview. The final selection is made based on the combined marks obtained in the Mains Examination and the Interview.Ā

The Preliminary Examination is conducted to shortlist candidates for the Mains Examination. The marks obtained in this stage are not included in the final merit list.Ā

2. Mains Examination Pattern

Candidates who qualify in the Preliminary Examination are eligible to appear for the Mains Examination. The Mains Examination is conducted in descriptive format and is crucial for determining the final merit ranking.Ā

The Telugu and English papers are qualifying in nature, and their marks will not be counted in the final merit list. The marks obtained in the remaining five General Studies papers will be considered for final ranking.

The final merit list is prepared based on the combined marks obtained in:Ā

The Preliminary Examination is qualifying in nature and its marks are not included in the final ranking.Ā 

Candidates who clear all stages will be recommended for appointment to Group 1 administrative services in the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
